how do you get a featured project?

i used to think it depended on favorites but then i see things with only like 2o favorites getting featured and now i'm confused :3

It also depends on crafty superstars and if Crafterella likes something.

Featured projects are usually something by the newest crafty superstar or that the CO+K creators like a lot.
