Bargain of the week!

Just to let everyone know I found a great bargain yesterday in poundland. You get 15 strips of satin in various colours for well - a pound (sorry I know that bit was obvious Tongue) There is 5 different colour schemes (red and pink, green and more green, black and purple, orange and yellow and yellow and purple). This was yesterday so they may have sold out by now but just in case anyone needs any cheap satin.
Hope that helped!

I'm guessing poundland is like a dollar store. None of the dollar stores I've ever been do have anything good craft wise. *pouts*

I'm jealous....the closest thing I can find to a deal is this: yesterday at the flea market in Jaffo I almost picked up a pink and gold garment off the street... but we weren't sure if the items had been thrown out for the garbage, or if someone was coming to pick them up. It's hard to tell with the Arabs, sometimes (they are the ones who run the Jaffo market)... if I'd known for sure that they weren't coming back, I'd have gotten a bunch of (dirty and in need of a wash) textile/clothing for free. :-P

This Poundland sounds intriguing. :-D

Rachie... There is a limited section of crafts in there Happy and the majority of people (note I said majority - no-one flame me please) that shop there are just... OH MY GOD!! I can't move in that shop because there are teenagers with buggies EVERYWHERE and when people know it's cheap it's like a cat fight to see who gets it first! I stay away from there unless I think there could be something useful in there... Then I come out wishing I never went in there LOL! Happy

Yeah, It tends to be really busy but we go really early - barely anyone there and first pick at the crafty stuff. Also the Works have some good craft things going. Because of Christmas coming up all the art materials are getting pushed out the way for all the christmas cards and decorations.

i've got a few good things from there before, got a scrapbook for £1(again obvious lol) and some dressing up stuff for my daughter. but yes i hate going in there unless i'm on my own or minus the pram at least. it gets rammed!!

It's horrible when it's really busy, I guess it depends on what store you go to and when you go. Anyone else got any cheap crafty finds???

This is going to sound weird but when I need a specific bead for a project the best way to get good beads is to buy either cheap bracelets or buy horrible old necklaces from charity shops. Again I know this sounds strange but I find it cool that you can take a cheapie old necklace and take the best beads from it to create new jewellery. I guess this trick would be good for projects like the wire wrapped tree ornament. :-P Happy crafting
