How do you keep it straight?

the thread, needle, and material...

was on the machine last night and you'd think I was drinking all night before picking up the project. HA!

Any pointers? Greatly appreciated.

I have a metal plate on my free arm and further up with straight lines and measurements. Other than that I just sort of 'wing it' I find I can do more by eye the more I do it's sometimes a bit of a knack.
Other than that perhaps it needs a service? Maybe it isn't you.... or you could hope! Happy x

For seams I use the edge of the foot as a guide. I keep the edge of the foot to the edge of the fabric, that way the seam is even. I find it particularly helpful when doing a curved seam.

This will sound strange but I don't sew when I'm tired and I make sure I'm sitting in a good position. All of the above work well too.

Make sure you have an even tension in your lead and following hand and keep them fairly relaxed. If you tense up it will either cause drag on the fabric or pull it to one side or the other. I agree with Debs......don't sew when you are tired.
