Possible Runway Model..should I just do it???
Alright, so every year there is the Toronto Alternative Fashion Week...also known as FAT. Every year they have casting calls for models. And its supposed to be for alternative people. I really want to do it, and I should just do it. I just feel that I would be the one "alternative" model to the twenty real models. And, I have done nothing but sit on my ass and eat crap food all week...the model casting is on Sunday, I have a month to get back in the shape that I want for the actual runway show. Second dilemma...I need to learn how to walk like a model..in well....two days.... think I can do it? Should I just do it? Say fuck it?
walking is easy, I used to model. Relax your body, stand straight, lock head-don't bounce it around...
balance a book on your head while walking up and down your hallway in three inch heels. Get a pair in black and bring them with you. Just walk like you normaly do, but steady.
For the end of the catwalk, shift balance from one leg to another.
also a quick way to feel good about yourself, without eating lettuce for a week. Take walks around your neighbourhood, run up stairs, do sit ups and pushups, dance at a party. Have fun.
If the point to being alternative is what I think it is, learning to walk surely shouldn't matter?! By that I mean, you shouldn't need a "prada" walk or whatever. Just your own style?
I am sure you look great anyway, go for it and have no regrets!
well, they do require you to be able to walk in three to 7 inch heels. and no sloppy sloppy. Bring your own edge to it, but not falling down
PS. just do it
go on youtube and watch models, something you tried to tell the grandkids! lol
I did it once for something at school but I was dead young, i don't remember saying yes to it
Well there's no harm trying, is there? Go for it x
do it do it do it
lol, ok I am going to do it..might as well. Whats the worst that could happen? they say no?...or I fall and sprain my ankle or something ridiculous....
Michelle, I actually have a couple of questions for you, they want me to bring two photos of myself as well. I am assuming a headshot and then a full body photo, am I right in this assumption? Also, what do you wear for a call like this? simple sort of tight fitting clothes?
well I usually wear jeans and a tshirt, or a tank top...hadly any makeup. Its more about presence...so be yourself, bring a pair of heels
and yes, two photos, headshot and full body. Find your angle first ok! have fun with it and then till us all about it
yeh I'd do like a tiny bit of clear lip gloss or lip balm, a tiny bit of blush and a tiny but of mascara
Good luck with your audition!
