Putting clay on glass bottle and baking it

I have this glass bottle and I want to put clay on it and bake it at 275 degrees fahrenheit for 30 minutes. I don't know where this bottle came from or how it was made. It's thick, about 1/4th an inch. Question is, is it going to shatter? Do you advise even testing it?

Here's a picture of it (I would bake it without the plastic plug of course)

I would say try it. I have bottles exactly like that, and I don't think it would shatter. Just make sure to let it come to room temp on its own after you bake it.

It should be fine. I've baked things in glass bottles at 300 degrees (or, probably my oven just doesn't heat up enough, because my clay doesn't cure entirely unless it's that high). As Monika says, don't try quenching the clay inside and just let it cool naturally. You'll probably burn the clay before anything happens to the bottle.

Alright, thank you! I'll get on that right away. I know that I have more of the bottles somewhere, I should look for them.

I might have to do something like that with mine now. Happy Thanks for inspiring me. Haha
