make a 19mm wooden crochet hook with the Dremel100

can somebody help me with this?
I've just purchased a Dremel100 (7 accesoires) thinking it would make it easier than cutting with a Stanley knife .
But something I did with the Dremel makes burning black stains in the wood...
If I knew how I would post some pictures of my wooden crochet hooks....
