Crafty Hen Do

My best friend has asked me to arrange her hen do where she wants to have her mum & mother in law to come so we were thinking of having a craft day. I've looked at places where you can do it but they are really expensive and they limit the number of people who can attend so I was thinking of holding one myself so then it would be a lot cheaper and we can have a glass or two of bubbly and we aren't restricted by time.

My problem is this, I have no idea what sort of craft thing to do or make. The only real limitations are that I can't buy too much equipment for it and my best friend can't sew (to the point of fixing hems with a glue gun instead of sewing).

Any ideas anyone???

I recently went to a craft workshop run by a museum and we decorated cushions. All the materials were sourced from charity shops, including the cushions and cushion pads. A lot of the designs were fixed with bond-a-web (the stuff that fuses fabrics together) so the people that couldn't sew didn't have too. Maybe you could do something similar to this but a scaled down version. Perhaps decorating cheap totebags. You could also ask some of the attendees to donate materials or you might find materials on free cycle (a lot of people give away craft materials when they run out of space to store them).

You could also decorate cup-cakes, as a cheap(ish) craft that anyone could do.

How did I forget about the wonders that is Bond-a-web, the only issue with that is that everyone will be fighting for the iron at the same time. I have done a lot of fibre art with it in the past so that will definitely be one of my suggestions.

Thank you Happy
