Weird Cake...how?

Hey, at tafe i have to do an art work inspired from an article i read in artlink (an arts magazine). The article was about not being prejudice towards food. So i though I’d make a cake with like tomato sauce, but i want people to eat it so, i need to think up away to make it seem unappealing, but still taste yummy. Got any ideas?

Hmmm I can imagine doin a cake that wasnt sweet (bit more like bread) like cheese and tomato pizza cake. so making a pizza that looks like a traditional cake.

edit-what about a vegan cake? I had one at my wedding, and although people were skeptical to try it they ended up devouring the whole thing! There were no leftovers at all! Ironically we had alot of normal cake leftover.

i've made kitty litter cake and ketchup cake. both were devoured but i think the kitty litter was a bit more popular. the ketchup cake just looked like red cake until i told the kids it had ketchup (which they did not believe).

I cant see why not, the only thing this is limited by is the imagination, I love the idea of making food that looks like other food, I might have to give it a try soon.

I have made the kitty litter cake before it went over pretty well you could also make a meatloaf cake with mash potato icing they look pretty neat althought to say meatloaf cake sounds pretty gross you just bake meatloaf in round cake pans and layer them with mashed potatoes and you can even decorate it with ketchup

For a sour cake, you could probably take a citrus cake recipe and replace any water with lemon or lime juice concentrate.
Alternately, add in some of the sour sugar like you find on Sour Patch Kids candies.
