Corset Question!!

Well, I'm making a dress with a corset as the top part, but heres the thing. I'm using the threadbanger pattern, but whenever I measure my waist it comes out wayyy farther than my bust points and when I try to draw the lines, the very side of the corset pattern, instead of the diagonal line drawing in, it draws out. Is this okay or am I doing something wrong? It says to take your waist measurement (32), subract 2 (30), then divide by 2 (15). But my bust measurement only goes out to 10.5
So...yeah.

Any advice?

I will! I finished the corset last night and I need eyelets and a setter and some netting but I think I'll be able to go to the fabric store today.

Oh thanks! Actually I made the choker by out of black lace and red ribbon, and I was like "I should make a dress to go with this!"
