Altering high waisted jeans...

I really love the look of high waisted jeans, but due to my body shape, I can't find any to fit. I'm a size 8, but my waist is a size or two smaller, so they just look loose and baggy Happy Does anyone know how I can alter them to make them smaller round the waist? I'm not very good at sewing and stuff, but I'll give it a go Happy
