To answer your first question, there are three types of postings: how-to, creation, and version. Only the how-to types will have instructions. I posted my rose necklace as a creation, so there are no instructions that come with it. Basically, you just have to take a sheet of shrink plastic, draw the design on it with silver sharpie markers, cut the roses out, hole punch them, and stick them in the oven. When they're done, you attach the roses together with jump rings, cut a length of chain, and attach that.
Shrink plastic (or shrinky dinks) is a type of plastic that you can draw on and then cut out shapes and put them in the oven. The heat from the oven causes them to shrink to about half their size and thicken. This makes it good for cheap jewelry -- 100% customizable and pretty sturdy (I have yet to break one). You'll probably find out more information if you google it.
