What are your hobbies?

I love to bake and experiment with new flavour combinations. I regularly share recipes and step-by-step cooking guides on my blog Cassiefairy.com every "Pieday Friday". I enjoy coming up with new ideas to create a delicious meal for all the family at really low prices.

What are your favorite crafts and what's your craft space like?

My favourite crafts are any DIY projects that save me money! I love to recreate a trend or product for less by DIYing it and sharing the results on my blog Cassiefairy.com.
This could be decorating a t-shirt with the latest patterns and colours, it could be upcycling an old tin or jar to use as storage in my kitchen or even creating birthday cards with cheeky messages for my friends.

What do you craft along to?

I like to craft along with YouTube videos - this is where I get a lot of inspiration for doing crafts. I taught myself to knit using a series of online videos! It's so much easier to get the hang of a new craft if you can watch someone doing it step-by-step. For people who live in the middle of nowhere (like me!) and can't get to a craft group or course, YouTube is a godsend. The next challenge is to learn how to do electrics so that I can make my own lamps etc for at home AND to make more DIY videos myself :)

What was the first project you ever made?

The first thing I ever made as a child would have been a pom-pom. I remember using a cardboard ring and spending ages winding the wool through it. I was amazed when I snipped the wool off the ring and poof! there was my first ever pom-pom. I think I progressed onto learning crochet but I've never tried to crochet again as an adult - I think I would have to learn it all over again.

What are your favorite items to make?

I like to make unique gifts for friends and family. I'm forever filling upcycled boxes and spray-painted baskets with homemade cookies, DIY goodies and low-cost treats because it allows me to customise the gift for each friend. This way I can give my pal a completely original gift that no one else will have given them, and it's probably cost me a lot less than buying a ready-made gift-set off the shelf.

Which other craft blogs do you love to read?

I enjoy watching The Sorry Girls DIY videos on YouTube because they create great fashion tutorials, interior DIY projects and even costumes! I'm totally in awe of RebelAngel.co.uk - her dress-making skills are amazing and I aspire to sew like she can! I also recommend LucyLovesYa.com, I love browsing her blog for colourful inspiration and great interior design ideas.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

I want to thank Cut Out + Keep for choosing me as a Crafty Superstar, I was chuffed to bits when I found out I'd been selected! I hope you'll stop by my blog Cassiefairy.com sometime soon and check out whatever thrifty project I'm working on at the moment :)
