Silk Scarves

I was looking at Audrey Kitching's buzznet and she had a fashion segment.
It was called Thrifting like a rockstar and it looked really interesting.
So I'm going thrifting later this week to see what i can find.
One of the things I liked was the silk scarves she had I was thinking of like somehow making a top out of it like kind what she did but it was actually sewed not tied.
What do you guys think??
Also ideas are always welcome of what i can do with scarves

That sounds cool.
I don't know much about sewing with silk, other than I bought a a silk patch bag and it started falling apart really quickly.

Silk might be a hard fabric to use?
There's a really good chance that I'm wrong though.
lol
=D

I don't know really, I know how to make tops out of scarves but the issue may be with the fact that it's silk

silk or any type of satin like fabrice is hard to work with because the peices will strech while you sew soooooo sometimes the peices wont fit together right
and the end result may be one sleeve longer then the other arm and neck holes being steched longer then you intended its very frustrateing if i was you i would do a little practice project something small so you can see what its like to work with and the kind of mistakes that are easy to make then when you get started on your project if you still decide you want to do it Happy you know what types of mistakes to watch for and then when your working on the project that will take a longer amount of time you wont get frustrated ohh another thing just run a little peice through your machine if your useing one because sometimes the material will get caught in the dog feeds and its a very delicate and easy material to snag

there is this book called 99 ways to rock your scarf, maybe they might have ideas in it. I want to get that book and the 99 ways to sew denim , 99 ways to cut and sew your tshirts. I ebay it and when I get paid I am going to use my puppy dog eyes on my hubby to see if i can get all three books Happy
