Making golden liquid?

I am trying to make a golden liquid. I am working on a little bottle of felix felicis from the harry potter books and it is supposed to be the color of molten gold. I will be putting it in a small plastic bottle with a cork top. Any suggestions on how to make a golden liquid or what I could use would be very helpful!

I have a bottle of liquid gold food colouring which would be exactly right.... Mine is "Mary Ford" but you can buy other makes from sugarcraft suppliers.
Have a look at this.....

Thanks for the ideas guys.

The only really bad thing is that there is no craft stores around here *gasp*. The only thing close to art stores around here are little $1 shops that sell origami, or if you're really luck, small things of paint.

Realms,

When do you need it by?

Is there a time frame on this?

What about gold nail varnish? It would have the "gloopy" consistancy of molten gold, and you should be able to find a bottle fairly cheap if you avoid the big-name brands.

Do you have any gold eyeshadow?

You would have to experiment, but maybe crush up some gold eyeshadow and try mixing it with some pva glue and a little water. Other than that, you could try grinding some gold glitter to a fine consistancy and adding it to something, either pva glue or maybe some honey?

I think Pandora has the right idea, a bottle of gold nail varnish is not going to be too expensive.

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know =)

Thanks.

I actually found a bottle of nail polish that looks like what I'm looking for, so I'll try that out and see how it works.

Thanks for all the ideas!

Mix black paint with white paint to make gray, and then mix the gray with yellow. Mix red, blue and yellow paint to get brown. Add brown and white to the yellow for a gold color. Take yellowish gold and add gold sparkles (found in hobby stores) to give it the sheen of gold. Or take an online Fine Arts degree program to know more. Computer
