Swimming Queries

I have two questions around the topic of swimming
I go swimming nearly every morning and I would like to know

1) Is there something I can do to stop my hair getting dry? I wash my hair as soon as I get out of the pool, and I don't want to wear a swimming hat and look like a chubby sperm. I've seen some deep conditioning remedies that I will try, but is there anything else I can do?

2) I want to dye my hair quite a bright red colour, is there anything I can do to prevent the colour fading quick due to the chlorine? Again I wash my hair as soon as I get out of the pool, and I don't want to wear a swimming hat and look like a chubby sperm.

3) If I do dye my hair red, the chlorine won't turn it a funny oclour or anything?

I was thinking about trying to dye my hair with body art henna stuff... I don't know if it would react with the chlorine and turn my hair green.

If anyone can give me ANY tips around these things, or have any remedies I could use it would be very much appreciated.
THANK YOU MY LOVELY CO+K PEOPLE'S... MUCH LOVEAGE XXX

i'm a swimmer. swim team we have to wear swim caps, no way out of it unless you shave your head (not a popular option among us girls). also if you go on Kiefer swim website or in a sports store there's this one shampoo that is made for swimmers and it smells rank but it works. it's in a blue bottle that's square. all i can remember sorry.
2. DO NOT DYE YOUR HAIR RED! of all colours! it turns the ugliest shade of pinkish in chlorine, or even this green/light red colour. just don't do it.
3. i guess i answered 3 also

I used to Aqua Aerobics regularly and found a good shampoo and spray on conditioner in Boots. Its they're own brand but did a pretty good job at getting the chlorine out and stopping your hair from drying out. I'd try a deep conditioning treatment too if your swimming daily. I do front crawl so always got soaked but several of the ladies in my group did breast stroke and pinned their hair up on top of their head. That way they stayed pretty dry. I think you can get some treatments that you put in your hair before getting into the pool too but you may need to look into that one. You could ask at a good hairdressers. They might be able to advise you about hair dying too.

Dyeing your hair red will not achieve the results you want with your chlorine exposure.
My sophomore son is on the Water Polo team and we have had some every interesting and quite frankly pretty scary results this year.
Just get a fancy hat

If you put some leave in conditioner in your hair before you go in the pool, it will help protect your hair somewhat from the chlorine. I am a hairstylist and also swim once a week, and have found that if I put in a leave-in conditioner before swimming and use a gentle clarifying shampoo and deep conditioner after my hair does not feel as dry. Even though you probably don't want to hear this, a swim cap is your best bet.
