Gigs

I saw Idlewild (for the 6th time this year) last Saturday in Aberdeen, AMAZING! Definately beat their Glasgow & Edinburgh gigs on this tour, they just had so much energy and played such a varied setlist, including a couple of songs that I'd been dying to hear! Happy Actualy the Edinburgh Queens Hall gig was equally amazing but the fire alarm went off mid way through and we all got evacuated for 15 minutes or so which kinda ruined it for me... to go from the barrier to the balcony is not so fun but at least I had space to dance I suppose! Cat did you end up seeing them in Dundee?

I want to go to Metric which is coming up Thursday the 31rst, but I have no one to go with and it's downtowwwwn. Travelling the city at night alone kind of freaks me out, but this concert is so cheap ($10!?!) that I might just brave it if it's not sold out, haha. Also Feist is coming on the 11th of Feb, and the Black Keys are coming in March. :O

My tom's taking me to see Casiotone For the Painfully Alone in April. I'm soooo excited. It's in the Cube Cinema, Bristol. Has anyone ever been?

Lineup hasn't been announced yet ^^

Duke Special pictures! For some reason all my photos came out stupidly dark and crappy, even though I used flash.

Mr Special playing with the victrola:

Mr Special ringing a bell:

Tom Truax (supporting) being insane:

I took like twenty photos and they were the best!

That guy was amazing. The thing he's playing in that was this little box which had loads of bits on it like a bike bell, a wooden bit to hit, a skull thing that chattered its teeth (you can't just about see it as the white thing), and it was a drum on the end, and it had this long bit of string attached to it and he attached the other end to a hanging speaker and twanged it, then sang/blew into it and the sound reveberrated (?) through this long tube thing.

Animal Collective?! Mad jealous.

I'm still dead excited about Casiotone on March 14th. I haven't seen a band for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages. Like really ages. I used to see at least one a month but then I ran out of money because I had to spend it all on going to see my boyfriend (who lives hundreeeeeds of miles away)
It's been about a year and a half since I've gone to a gig. Yeesh!

Yup. Did you know that Panda Bear lives in Lisbon? I keep thinking I will bump into him some day, but that never happened.

I spend a LOT of money on gigs. If I start making a list of bands I've seen last year, I'll be here for hours. :|
