Publishing a Plushie Book

Yes ... the title says all ... one of my biggest wishes is publishing a plushie book. Hopefully you think with me (having a look into my gallery here), that it is time for a plushie book. I think my skills have grown within the years and I really hope there will be the chance.

Unfortunately the publishing houses in Germany always write the same "... there is no market for such a book ..."

No market ... funny that people often ask me about sewing, eyes ... everything ...

I don't wanna tell everything for free, truly I will post here more of my tutorials ... but I think this page is not like the pages I have been before.

I made some tutorials there and had about 100 or more favourites, but not comments and when I ask for any feedback, I was told being so bad because of begging ... I think this was no bagging, but afterwards I deleted all Tutorials and will never upload them.

I think in some cases it is ok to receive feedback or being paid ...

I can't make everything for free, because I wanna live, I must live ...

What do you think about it?

Will I ever have a chance for a plushie book in any part of the world?

Is it ok or shall I change my mind and publish tutorials on this page again?

Try an American publisher. Americans will buy just about anything...it's what we do. ;)

I would purchase your book. I was looking for plushie books online that not only showed you how to make their patterns, but how to design your own. (gussets and such can be a bit complicated sometimes)There aren't many out there...but I can see where they are starting to get more popular.

Good luck. And I think we all understand that you don't want to post tutorials. Tutorials are not a requirement on this site. Although, I would consider selling them individually on Etsy. There are a ton of felt food patterns on Etsy where you buy just the pattern. You can send the pattern in an email and you're DONE!

I was actually considering doing that too. ;)

Did this happen on cutoutandkeep, or a different site? And i agree with Dessah, get an american publisher. Plushie books get sold at craft stores with the other crafting books , and plushies are just plain awsome. Etsy is great because you could sell each pattern indivdially and mabey make more in the end then if you were to sell them all as a book. Even if you cant find a publisher, you could publish it yourself then sell individual patterns and the book with some of them on Etsy.

@Dessah
Maybe an American Publisher can be a good idea, but I think the biggest problem will be, that I am German and not American and I think if I would write the book in English, nobody would be able to understand me, because I think I will not be good enough to translate some German Technical words, but we will see.

I want to put everything in this book ... making patterns, easy plushies, right fabric and all these other main facts.

Oh I enjoy publishing Tutorials here, I did it before, although I will not publish everything, because at the moment I collect all my Plushie Tutorials for the book :3 ... but I have got many other Cosplay Tutorials (to make shoes ... ) I also deleted on this German page.

@Angel Eve .. no it is our biggest German Anime and Manga Page. I think publishing here, I will not have any problems because of the kind people being here :3

Well, translations are no big deal. I'll help where I can...maybe for just an honorable mention and a free copy? ;)

You can also hire a writer to help.

So you gonna be my first Fan from the US ... I will see how it works. Maybe I will have a small chance with a small publishing house her in Germany ... and maybe someday, there will be a real Plushie Book :3

A plushie book would definitely sell in the U.S.
How do I know this? Because I just bought the zombie plushie book and I am in love! I would definitely buy your book. ^_^
