Sewing your own wardrobe

as you can guess from my projects, i sew my own wardrobe too! seven years ago i started dreaming (and sewing) of it and now i proudly wear my clothes (even some of the oldest ones) Happy though i passed on to custom made clothes for other people otherwise my wardrobes will explode some day...but sometimes i can´t resist, i´m some kind of very hungry caterpillar, but with clothes!

I sew everyday. It get's kinda hard to do as a teenage though Tongue But I seem to always find time to sew something. Unfortunately, I don't look all that great in the clothes I do make...So Most of my wardrobe is just cheaps Saver's clothes I find and alter, or something I find in a normal store.

I wish I had the sewing skills to make my wardrobe! I love the idea of having a truley unique style. I alter t-shirts and I've sewn a skirt or two. I like flowy things, punky things, cute things, etc.. etc.. My style is very eclectic. Tongue

My boyfriend got me a sewing machine for my birthday last year and I have got so many ideas for stuff I want to make but the problem is finding the time! I've also got a big bag of stuff I've recently pulled from my wardrobe for repairs or alteration cos I'm sick of not wearing the stuff. I'm still learning and all I've done so far is refashion some T shirts (mainly my boyfriend's old ones) but I do have a project runway pattern and some fabric for my first dress. Jasmin N I have the same blimming problem! Tiny waist and back and massive ... well you know. I've altered a couple of T shirts a few sizes too big for me using the "pinch and pin " method. That way they fit me around the bust and are fitted nicely around my waist without being too tight or baggy anywhere. Check out the Threadbanger website for how to do it. Good Luck!

I love sewing together clothing items myself (even though the stuff I like to sew would be kind of on the edgy or costumey side of what you all are used to due to the fact that I like to use liquid lame as my fabric of choice for sewing stuff ranging from shorts to pants/trousers/leggings to skirts to leotards/bodysuits!) Since I don't know how to add pictures to my replies or use direct linking on message boards like some of you above me, you'll just have to click on my name and find the projects I made so far to see the pics of the stuff I made! I even have step by step tutorials on some of my projects!
