I'm usually really excited but I haven't given it much thought this year.

Well it's a really special Samhain celebration for me. My little girl will be 18 years old!!! Time flies fast.

We will 'goth' the house up more than it is already. I have my broom from my handfasting ceremony and have black roses and an alter so it won't take much.

We've invested in too many plastic spiders....the cats are having fun and we have enough candy for the whole street.

Happy holidays Happy

Ps I'm in England and halloween isn't as big a celeration as in the USA. Some of us are trying our best though...LOL

Sadly, Sheila, Halloween seems to be a dying holiday. Parents are so paranoid about people putting poison or razors into candy that many don't even take their kids out to trick or treat anymore. A lot of people take their kids to the mall for the trick or treat event or parties. Everytime I have taken my kids out there are very few kids on the street and very few houses handing out candy.

I trick or treated up until I was 19. <.< Free candy! And someone asked me "aren't you a little old for halloween?" I replied "Better asking for candy than egging your house!"

Yeah i had noticed . I'm from the UK to i live in London. And from what i can see like in the US its huge over there. It was terrible when we were younger and me and my family would go out to trick'r'treat and when we rung the doorbells i remember so clearly some bloke answering the door and shouting at me calling me a voodoo worshiper or some crap :') Oh dear. Some people are so simple minded. I loved it but now i have my little girl thought it would be the right time to do a little party for her we have the whole sherbannngg lol cobwebbed table cloths, hanging skeletons, severed heads ,pumpkins :p I'm 19 and feel like i should grow up a bit but i'm so xcited for it haha.

I took my daughter trick or treating when she was a younger teenager. We ended up having a flour fight. Her friend transformed from witch to ghost in about 3 seconds.....LOL
The only thing she didn't like was how many oranges she came back with.
I'm 44 and I still get excited.....look at the expression on my avatar and you will see what I mean ;D

Wasn't so great my mum just kept us in after that intil we were like 12 and we had to be with family haha and yesss . One time all people kept giving us was apples cos they had no candy :| lame!!!

Hey guys! I am from California and I can tell you Halloween is dieing here too. It's sad, I've worked at a haunted house for 6 years and this is the first year I'm not working at one and I noticed how little people put effort into celebrating it anymore. Halloween is my favorite holiday so I'm still going to celebrate it! I'm going to be the 10th Doctor from Doctor Who! So I'm psyched about that. Also since you guys are talking about kids, for some reason Halloween always makes me want a kid so I can dress them up in the cutest costumes, but instead I get to dress up my niece and nephew. That's perfect for me.

Kellbear I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience, I had a firework shot right at my face one time at fourth of July.

Awh yeah. It kinda sucks how hardly anyone celebrate it any more. ):

I find that Halloween is now mainly like pub&club scene now. I suppose it gives people who go to pubs and clubs an exuse to dress up . Not for the fact that its halloween. Haha i am just rambling on now. I'm rather tired . XD
