I have short hair, not as short as my chin, but shorter than my shoulders, you know what I mean?Annyway, I'm graduating this week and I want my hair to look like this http://thebeautydepartment.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/TBDfashion3-2.jpg (The short and curly one at the very bottom)
But the problem is, that every time that I curl my hair.. it doesn't come out like this AT ALL! I am using i think a 1/2 in curling barrel, and the curls come out all lopsided, and they come undone very easily.. any help?

I've curled my sister's hair when it was short for my other sister's wedding and I went about it like this...
Starting with the bottom layer I used 1/4" curling iron to curl all around, sprayed a light layer of hairspray on the underside (so the outside doesn't look crunchy) and repeated for a few more layers... Once you're layers start getting longer you can switch to a larger barrel (1/2" curling iron) and curl the rest all the way over to the top, spraying a light coat of hairspray on the underside of each layer. To define the curls around the face I did some pin curls, using my fingers to twist a few loops, bobby pinned them in place, sprayed them with hair spray and let them set. When it's all done I'll either flip the hair upside down and loosely run my fingers through it to soften the curls, or if they're strong enough use a low setting on a blow drier. Finish with an all over spray of hair spray and add any hair accessories you'd like to clip in

I curled my hair once, only once, but as your problem, I can't get the result I thought at all. Maybe that's because of the character of my hair. And now my hair becomes worse and worse, so I decided to not curl it anymore. If I want the curled style, I can wear a wig instead.
I found this site for wigs: http://www.abhair.com/ponytail-hairwraps, but no short curled wigs there. :(
