Good, cheap makeup?

Hi everyone!
I'm going to my boyfriend's birthday party this weekend at a club we've rented out for the night. It's going to be pretty big and I want to look special. I am in desperate need of new makeup (yes, I've been wearing the same 2 or 3 colors of eyeshadow every time I go out for the past three years...) but am also quite broke. I'm wondering if anyone can suggest stores or brand names that are cheap but still not total crap. I'm in Florida, US, also so I don't have access to all the cool European stores Sad

Thanks!
-Kristen

You may not have time to buy it for your event...but try Avon. (yes, I'm a representative, and this is a shameless plug) lol

We have great stuff. www.youravon.com/dessahharrison

you can mix the three colors or two of the three or wet your brush and apply them wet. im cheap but the saying is true.. you get what you pay for. but a real answer to your question, walmart. they have never failed me when i had enough money.. i know walmart is cheap but the makeup is damn expensive for being cheap makeup but they are bound to have something that is cute and reasonabley priced!

You can also try adding a little bit of glitter to your regular eyeshadow. (I've been doing this for years!) Go to a craft store, get some ultra fine glitter in a color that you like - if you don't already have some around the house. Then, put a tiny bit of plain chapstick on your index finger, and pat lightly over your eyelid after you have your eyeshadow on. Sprinkle a little glitter in your hand, dip your index finger in, and lightly pat onto your eyes. Use a makeup brush to dust off any that gets on your eyelashes or cheeks and viola - instant sparkly party eyes Happy

I use NYC, it is inexpensive and I get them at walmart. I just play around with different shades with the eyeliners....Since I am currently in my pink stage I like using the 3 different shades of pink blush on my lids. Happy

I agree with Dessah H. avon or even mark by avon is great stuff at inexpensive prices.

sally's mineral line is not bad from the reviews i've read.

ELF (eyes lips face) is very cheap and a great way to try new colours! It's online.

There's this brand called Hard Candy at my Wal-Mart and it's pretty good and not badly priced. If you have a Wal-Mart near you they might have it too.

What ever you do
do NOT buy the cover girl eye shadows that come in two or three shades
they are HORRIBLE
I bought them because i fell for their bright palettes
but as soon as i got home & tried it, i was soo mad! The colour does NOt sow up very well on your eyes, you have to apply layers and layers and layers o get it to SOMEWHAT stand out on your eyes Happy

as for cheap make-up nyc is very good
and so is LA colours, if you want good nail polishes head to your local dollarama they have these Nail Art polishes with a very fine tip, it's AMAZING! (the brush & color) you can easily make MANY designs with the fine tip brush,
i love their eye-liner as well, and as for mascara
try Lash Blast ( you know? the orange bottle? )
It's about 7 bucks in Canada, but im sure it'll be cheaper in the US (lucky you huh? )
And of course it's AMAZING. Happy you will not be disappointed.
You can always take the old eye shadow
use a fine tip make up brush ( or an old eye liner brush) and mix it with some water to make it into a coloured eye liner
and finally
use old coral/light pink lipstick as blush

but really you shouldn't be using old make-up
make-up is usually horrible enough for ytour skin, OLD make-up is even worse!
Hope i helped !

I'm obessed with makeup (wanna become a makeup artist someday lol), but I also can't afford high-end expensive stuff.
I'm always on the look out for good, cheaper brands :3
NYC is pretty good, and these's this brand that I've been seeing around called Jordana.
I'm really suprised they haven't gotten more attention.

Nyx (usually found at ulta) range 5-8 $
Maybelleine (drugstores)
Rimmel, ELF, if you can spurge an extra few dollars get a shimmer strip kit from physicians formula.
Stay away from almay and covergirl. Both stain your lids and crease without tons of primer.
Good luck! Happy
