Be careful with this!!!!

Cremes and things like vaseline can block the pores in your eyelids, which causes the natural oils in your eyes to build up..which can create a hard cyst like lump called a chalazion. This happened to my roommate because of the lotions and whatnot she used on her eyes, and its really painful and it can take weeks to go away with antibiotics.

As long as you dont use the vaseline regularily, Im sure it will be fine..but a word of caution

taking folic acid or a 'hair & nails' supplement will help

I suppose i can't be that dangerous if nothing bad has happened but you never know what might go wrong!

Have you tried getting your eyelashed tinted? You generally have to get it done about every three - four weeks if memory serves me correctly, due to the hair growth cycle. Takes about 15mins. They offer the service at beauty salons and some hair dressers. But it can be a nice alternative if you don't like having to put on mascara all the time. If you have sensitive eyes though like me I wouldn't suggest it but if you don't its pretty basic. You pretty much sit there with your eyes closed and the put it on, wait 10mins, then wash it off, simple. I found a popular colour that I used on people was a purple-black colour, it came out really nice on all of the clients I did Happy My mum has really short and very few eyelashes, when I did hers it made a huge difference Happy

My boyfriend had a chalazion thing (not from putting Vaseline on his eyelashes though I'm sure Tongue) and then a bit next to it got infected so he had a cyst and the chalazion... he got put on medication to clear them both up but only the cyst went, so he had to have the chazalion cut out. It's an operation they do while you're awake and they just clamp your eyelids into position... so gross and not worth it for longer eyelashes when there's alternative ways to get the same look!

If you go for getting your eyelashes dyed/tinted, make sure they do a skin test or whatever it is they do before you have it done to see if you're allergic to it. I read in a magazine about someone who didn't test herself before and had a reaction to it and her eyes swelled shut :|

I just wouldn't put anything like that near my eyes, not even if a professional was doing it...and also it would grow out right?

Mascara would be the best choice here I think. Vasaline is sometimes used as a base before putting on eyeshadow and eyeliner though...so I'm not sure if that would do a ton of damage to your eyes... I've used it plenty and nothing's wrong with mine yet, although I don't use it anymore so maybe I quite in time?

I have crazy long latina lashes.. so i dont really relate, but i love fake lashes. I just adore them Happy they're so glam. And i heard about this pill or injection on the Doctors (its a show) where you take it and it speeds up hair growth and they used it for diabetes, but it was innefective, but patients got really thick, long lashes. I recommend a heated lash curler, not getting any risky medicine for pretty lashes Happy
