When did you first start sewing and how did you learn?
I started about 10 years ago after my daughters were born, I was pretty much self taught with a bit of help from my mother.
Can you remember the first thing you made?
I sewed a very simple tote as my first project, and I quickly moved on to clothing, sewing a simple skirt next.
Do you have any favourite pattern designers or celebrity sewers?
I love Nancy Zieman and was honored to appear in her show, Sewing With Nancy, last year as a 2-part episode that featured projects from my book, Sewing MODKID Style.
What's your sewing room like and how do you organize your stash?
I have 4 Baby Lock machines (the Symphony, the Unity, the Imagine serger, and the Coverstitch). My fabric collections line the walls and I have a large cutting table in the middle of the room for easy access from all sides.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
I sometimes have music in the background but not always. If I do, I will pick a Pandora station with 80's music.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I don't do any other crafts and besides sewing, my other favorite hobby is Photography.
