When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?

My parents are both great cooks, both learning from their parents and grandparents. I’ve learned everything I know from them and my first attempt at a meal by myself as a young teenager was a recipe called Pizza Rustica. The thing I remember most about it was that it had 21 ingredients!

What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?

My husband and I recently built a new home so I made sure that the kitchen was conducive to all my cooking needs. I always have the spices in the cabinet directly to my right as well as all of my utensils. A nice big island for prep and the sink in the middle was a must as well!

What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?

Never ever be afraid to try any recipe and don’t be intimidated by ingredients. Start small with just just one dish and then expand to a full meal prep.

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?

I would make bacon wrapped dates with goat cheese and Baked Brie bites for appetizers. For the main course, we would have a pear & pecan salad, roasted cauliflower and sweet potatoes, Chicken Saltimboca, a homemade Italian cheese bread and Strawberry crunch parfait for dessert.
I would invite Julie Andrews, Kathy Lee Gifford, Jennifer Lopez, Jimmy Fallon, Prince William and Duchess Kate.

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

I am a huge scrapbooker and in fact used to judge scrapbooking competitions. I also love interior design and completely designed our new home. In addition to blogging, I love fashion, exercising and most importantly spending time with my family which consists of my husband, three boys between the ages of 18 and 21 and our 14-year-old dog named Daisy.

Which cooking blogs do you love to read?

I love Cooking with Carlee, Southern Bite and the Pioneer Woman

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

After working in the medical field for 20 years, I was able to resign from my job a year ago and is the best thing I’ve ever done! I have been blogging for four years with much success and most notably enjoy sharing my recipes on Tasty Tuesdays! I am new to Instagram and I am enjoying the community there and my Instagram Profile is livingoncloudnine9
