It's not hard WeAreTheOcean, just follow the steps and you can make one. None of the parts are difficult, it just seems overwhelming because of the amount of steps I put up. I just wanted all of the things I discovered about making it to be there, so no one had to make the same mistakes I did. Good luck!!

You know, I have a ton of leftover feathers that I never really know what to do with... but this tutorial just gave me the solution! Such a pretty idea. Thank you!

You can find the feathers at Michael's sometimes. The pheasant feathers are at both Joann's and Michaels. I've gotten feathers from old masks (look during Marti Gras and Halloween) or look at your local costume supply store, like Display House. You can also find them at thrift stores in feather dusters. Usually to get nice feathers, you have to disassemble something already made. I have gotten some good feathers out of the bulk bags sold at Joann's. Otherwise, look online.

As far as peacock feathers go... I took mine off of an old Mardi Gras mask. You can ask at your local farms and see if any of them will give/sell you feathers. I have a friend who will be selling me this years feathers when her peacocks molt.

Best of luck to you!

where did you find the long feathers? that is the only thing that has kept me from making them, finding the long nice feathers that can suit my long hair. michaels always seems to have short, stumpy, trashy feathers. Please let me know Happy

Michael's, in the jewelry department. Joann's carries them as well, just not in any amount that makes it worthwhile. Joann's does have the tiny ones for microscopic feathers though. The Michael's ones are by Jewelry Essentials Findings in the light blue packages. Joann's are by Blue Moon Beads and are in a dark blue package with baggies on the front. Also, you can order them online through Fire Mountain Gems. Best of luck to you!

I can make three of the chains for about 7.00. That includes all supplies. $2something apiece isn't bad at all!
