i have a book somewhere that shows how to do this with nail polish as well (mix the eyeshadow with clear nail polish) i'll probably just stick with that, since idk what chemicals are in my eyeshadow :/

Hey, I think it's great that you ladies are so creative, but there are some colorants in eye-shadows not meant to be on your lips. You should not put greens and blues on your lips because they probably contain Chromium Oxide Green and/or Ferric Ferrocyanide, they are the main colorants that make green and blue eye shadow and aren't safe for lips.

The only safe blue for lips is FD&C Blue 1 and unless you know what's in your eye shadow, you should stick with pinks, red and oranges. Definitely do NOT put any glow in the dark UV pigment on your lips or eyes! They aren't safe for lip or eyes either.

I formulate cosmetics and here are some inexpensive lip pigments that are similar to O.C.C and you can mix them together with the white pigment for any color. Hope this helps:

This is a great idea, but.. As a makeup artist I would just be careful about ingesting eye-shadows. The skin on your lips is super thin and sensitive, and could react differently to a shadow pigment then your eyelids might. I think it's a pretty safe experiment, but I'd plop some primer down on my lips first, just to be sure! Happy
