homemade gift for someone interested in gardening?

my mums boyfriends dad has recently had an operation and is really down, and I want to send him something to cheer him up.
Ill make a homemade card, but does anyone have any ideas of what I could include? :3

what if you made a homemade card out of those 'seed sheets' that you can plant? you could include a hand painted terracotta pot to plant the seeds in!

Ooo, you could decorate a flower pot... I guess that isn't very manly though lol. Umm, what about a keyring with a trowel and spade made out of fimo? I love making keyrings. Or you cooould make him some gardening gloves? Sorry not amazing ideas but maybe a little help?

Why not make a small garden planning book?A place to make notes and plan for the future.Design the front cover titles "Garden Ideas"
