I am undecided yet I have my reasons aganist each party...

To be honest I'm definatly not voting Conservative, I remember how tough it was living in my household under the Conservative party, we barely ever had money to spare... I still feel that they are for upper-middle and upper class people rather than for working class families.

As for the other parties I am not entirely sure... I want change but I have very litl trust in politicians, ANY!! They all say they will do something but they very rarely carry out what they say, and particularly after all the expenses scandel, it's hard to believe any of them really!!!

Totally agree, they are all as bad as each other and hardly ever follow through with the things they say they will change.

@shift_material15 ~ Well done you for getting into this stuff early. I wouldn't of known anything about it at 15, I'm only just getting my head around it all now!

Still not 100% decided on who I'm voting for yet. I would totally go for green party though if they weren't so extreme! They need to make change by starting out small, then get people to start making a difference gradually.

hmm, yeah unfortunately they probably will never actually carry out half the things they promise "/

aah thanks ruby : i dont quite udnerstand the whole voting process and what actually happens, i just want people to vote for nick clegg cause he's different and the underdog, like.. people should give him a chance! haha

what are the green party like? Happy

I have voted green locally for as long as I could vote and will continue to do that this time. I will vote liberals though for the parliamentary seat though as our liberal candidate has very similar policies to our green one and stands a good chance of getting in. The labour and conservatives candidates looks practically the same. Has anyone checked out the website where you can pick by policy who to vote for. Its really interesting. I'll try and have a google and post the link. You just have to pick the 4 main issues that interest you and they will give you the 4 main parties policy on those issues and you pick which policy you like the most and they tell you at the end who you would vote for. I oddly enough picked green for 3 out of 4 of the policies and the other one was liberal. That ironically was the environment policy Happy

The voting process is very simple shifty_material, obviously you will have to enrol yourself once you are old enough, but when you do you get a polling card posted to you telling you where your nearest polling station is, you take your polling card with you and hand it to the offical people at desks and stuff, they give you a card with the names of the candidates on them, you take it into a booth and put a cross in the box for the person you want, fold it in half so they don't seen your vote and hand it back to the officials.

As for which party to vote for, like I said they are all as bad as eachother, it's not just the Green Party that may not carry out their policies, you can guarantee that no matter which party gets in, they never actually carry out the things that they promise to do which is wht depresses me about all this, I doubt this country will ever change because parties promise change just to obtain our vote but don't follow through...

This is my first year voting and I'm pretty sure I'm going Lib Dem. I wouldn't mind Labour or Lib Dems, just not Conservatives! But it looks like Lib Dems have a chance so I'm backing them.

Don't think you can get a ciggy paper between most of the party policies. I think most people will make their choice on single issues rather than any particular party's policy. I'm staying up to watch results so I'm off work on Friday Happy

Knittin Kitten - Yeah this year is very close between all three of the main parties, usually Lib Dems don't stand a chance but it's looking very close this year!! I'd rather not let the Conservatives get in... so it will either be a choice between Labour or the Lib Dems.

But Sheila is right, people are likely to choose parties on one singlar policy rather than looking at their policies all together because they are soooo similar. I might not watch the results as I'll have loadsa studying to do for my exam. It's so annoying I have an exam tomorrow too, so I'm going to have to vote real early before I leave for Hatfield to take my Psychology exam!!!

If anyone wants to watch the results as they come in go here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/election2010/results/

Bec - I was over at the uni today for a conference. It was quite odd seeing how much had changed since I was there. The fonts not even the font anymore!

Just in case anyone else is scratching their heads - Lolly.bot (Bec) is studying at the same uni as I did Happy
