as I said a few years ago I was being called a goth because of the same stupid genres of music that turn into something to label people. I never really associate self harm with emo, I just don't like the music.

i like the music. i dont see anything wrong with emo at all. its just the sterotype that comes with it. its other people that think that the kid with the skinny jeans and straight messy hair must cut themselves because they look like that. and its the people that do cut themselves just to fit under a category. its not really emo its self thats bad, but what people have done to it.

when I said 'because of the same stupid genres of music' I meant how they become stereotypes and that is stupid not the genres of music.

I know a lot of emos that just dress that way... its just a fashion mostly where i am. I think that most emos are just going with the style. MOST.... let me say that again MOST i'm not stereo typing. I also dislike the stereo types. If you go out and meet some emos you will probably find that a lot of them aren't really like that, or that they are just pretending that they're like that to go with the style. Again i'm not stereo typing. I don't wanna be accused of that please.

ok they say emo is a nonconformist movment which im not saying it isnt still but to me emo is just a way to make it easier for ppl to lable them selves emotional

example if a guy is just a guy a jock lets say who is emotional ppl will probley call him gay right but if your a guy who is emo then its ok and your probley not gay

and emotional doesnt mean you have to be an emotional wreck either which kills me because most ppl say emo ppl or emotional ppl are sad but i know a lot of emo ppl who are very happy and are emotional in a happy way and open to expressing happy feelings no matter how imasculein or over femi it makes them look
but see now where getting into gender specifics etc you cant just go what your take on emo because its like opening a can of worms it gosw into alot of different topics

but over all emo stands for emotional ppl good or bad
