Amigurumi Human Plushie Help Please!

I've gotten this lovely pattern for a human-shaped plushie and i've followed it and love the end result but the neck is a little floppy on mine.

I was wondering if there was something i could do to make the neck a little stronger (like reinforcing it but still keeping it soft and huggable) or if i should just alter the pattern to make the neck wider (would that make it more stable?), or make the head smaller and less heavy?

This is my first foray into crochet dolls and was wondering if there was a better way to go about this? Any thoughts/ideas would be super welcome and appreciated. Also i guess this is my first thread so hello everyone!

I sometimes use a yarn needle and put a few extra threads through the crochet to make it thicker, if that helps Happy

I'll give it a shot... so far i've just made the neck thicker/shorter, waiting to see if it'll hold up for the finished product. If that doesn't work i'll try the extra threads.
