Crafters needed for interviews for a new TV show...

Hey everyone,

So an agency who are producing a new show about youth "tribes" for Channel 4 are looking for a bunch of "crafty kids" to be interviewed. You have to be aged between 16-24. If you're interested, send me a message!

Oh well I guess I was thinking like a news broadcast when you said channel four. Whoops. But yes, that sounds like a fun idea! Happy

Hmm, I would but the word 'tribes' is scaring me. I hate all this categorising of people. I don't want to end up like 'I'm Amy and I'm an Indie'!

I don't like the Channel 4 tribes thing, and I'm wary of any exposure of this kind after an experience I had on ITV. But I would still do this =)

Roma, the problem with some interviews is they can edit it to make you seem a fool even though you gave an intelligent interview, or they can cut out pieces that you feel is important, and they don't.

it is basically something you do on trust. a chat with the reporter before the interview can help them understand the points you are trying to make, or what you do, and still, it can be a mess if the editing team doesn't give a hoot about what the reporter told them about the interview and what points need to come out.

I just watched that "I'm Amy and I'm an Indie" video and it made me cringe >.<

When I was fourteen I was asked by the Bristol vegetarian society to bring a friend and appear on ITV West because it was vegetarian week. So I went on, did my interview and stuff, but they completely cornered us. The interviewer hounded my friend and kept going on about how he went vegetarian and was anemic so vegetarianism is obviously gonna kill people, and what are you meant to say to that? You're an idiot and should have eaten more healthily? I also didn't do media then so I didn't realise what a slap in the face it is to be interviewed in the staff canteen.

When I saw it, they'd gone with this whole goth angle - they showed clips from Coronation St when the goths on that went vegetarian and it was just some big farce. Thanks very much, ITV. They also used the line "But being vegetarian isn't all about hanging out in graveyards". All the bits they showed of me and Rowan was when we were really flustered because they'd just been yelling at us, and bits from the first question before they told us where to look so our eyes were doubting around really dodgily. The bastards.

Oh my god! That's awful!

I won't do it now, not just because of that.. but also because of my hatred of 'tribes' and categorising everybody. It is wrong!

Oh I'm sorry I didn't want to ruin it! I'm probably still gonna do this one, if it helps.

I'd like to say media people are lovely but really, I adore the subject and think it's fascinating but it's full of the scum of the earth. Which is why I'm going into it =)
