Creative slump

I've just completed a series of paintings and now am wandering around the house like a lost soul. What do you do when you've finished a project and nothing is planned, there are no deadlines looming, and you don't know where to go next?

I'd make something else, or post photos of what I've made. I have a notebook filled with all my ideas for things to make and I use a highlighter to colour them in when I've made them. I don't think I'll ever highlight all the things in it, because I add things faster than I make them.

When I hit a slump like that I give myself a break and do something not crafty for a few days and then an idea usually comes to me. Or I hit the internet scouring for inspiration.

i usually look at the calendar and see who's birthday or what special occasion is next then start brainstorming about what to make friends and family for the respective event...

Why's that C? Earrings are nice and simple, so I guess it's a good idea!

creativity can come from any where books, films, tv and also a really fun way of coming up with stuff is to write down 10 (or as many as you can) words describing say somebody you know, then as many words like 'at, it', and then as many words as you can like 'however, although'.

Then have each word on a small peice of paper ripped from the original peice (or whatever), make them into little balls, then pick at random and stick down as they occour, its really fun and funny and you might find some inspiration from the mad paragraph you create!
