When did you first start sewing and how did you learn?
I started sewing quite a while ago. I was always intrigued by women in the movies who would be shown stitching a quilt or working on embroidery, etc. I asked my mother to teach me, and she showed me lots of stitches.
Nowadays I look up tutorials for a certain stitch, but I'm grateful to my mom for what she taught me!
Can you remember the first thing you made?
I'm not exactly sure! I started off practicing embroidery, then cross-stitch, and then I began working with felt and fabrics.
Do you have any favourite pattern designers or celebrity sewers?
No--I'm inspired by everyone!
What's your sewing room like and how do you organize your stash?
I store my felt in a large drawer in my desk, and my thread spools, skeins, etc. are in a plastic box on my desk. Nothing special, ha ha, but I'm considering decorating my craft workspace more!
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
I don't really stitch along to a certain thing--most of the time my house is really noisy, so I guess I just stitch along to that! Or sometimes I have my headphones in and I listen to dubstep.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I like paper crafts and working with washi tape. I'm also a bit obsessed with planners and stationary. I like to make things out of clay and also jewelry. Painting and drawing patterns is lots of fun too!
My hobbies, besides crafting, are swimming, writing, reading, and drinking coffee. ;) I love a good book and a cup of joe. :)
