Tell us a bit about your home and what you love about it the most?

I love the character and vintage details of our house, which is 90-years-old. The high ceilings and large windows mean we get plenty of light, even on a foggy San Francisco day. We renovated our kitchen last year, creating a great room and walk-out to the back patio, and these changes definitely made this old house into the perfect home for our modern family.

What was the first DIY project you did to your home or first thing you made for it?

Our youngest was born while our housing was in transition, so he slept in a crib in our bedroom for the first 10 months of his life. When we moved into our new house, I was so excited to decorate his nursery! I used a few now-retro items from my own childhood. I was excited when I found a fun graphic red-and-white wrapping paper, and I used that to decorate the back of his bookcase and wrap a large initial to hang on his wall.

Do you have any tips for staying tidy & organised?

I could definitely use some help in the organization department, but one thing that I find very helpful is labels. If I label containers, I'm much more likely to put things away in their proper place.

If you could tour any celebrities home, who would it be?

This is a tough one. A lot of celebrity homes, at least the ones we get to see, seem more like they are designed for show than designed for living, and that isn't really my style. Kristen Bell has always seemed to be super-charming and down-to-earth, and I imagine her home would reflect that, so I would love to take a peek inside!

If you had three wishes, what changes would you make to your home?

I am very happy at home already, but with a magic wand, I would love to have 1) more sunshine in our foggy town; 2) new outdoor spaces; and 3) no more clutter!

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

I love doing all kinds of creative projects. I have a special love for patterns in fabric and paper, and I am always looking for ways to use them in new projects.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?
