How did you find CO+K and why did you join?

I found CO+K by searching for easy patterns to see when I was first starting to get into sewing hardcore. I joined because it was a social network of like minded people who love to create and share.

What projects are you currently working on?

I run a business, so I'm always designing new handbags. I recently started making wallets, which was a learning curve for me. Took me awhile before I developed my skills to a point where I would be confident sending it to a customer, but I've been able to get there. I'm my toughest critic, so if I'm happy I know others will be too.

What does your craft space look like?

I'm lucky enough to have a separate room for my sewing studio. It's a standard sizes bedroom with bookshelf's that will eventually hold all my fabric. I've recently started organizing my studio, and I still have to sort out all my fabrics. I have an obsession with fabric and I buy fabric when I fall in love with it even if I don't have a project for it yet.

Which tool or craft supply do you use the most?

I use my rotary cutter and mat the most. I use it to cut out fabrics and when I'm designing my own patterns.

What do you craft along to?

Most of the time I'm listening to whatever video game my husband is playing. If he isn't home, then I listen to Panic at the Disco channel on I Heart Radio, I rarely have to skip songs.

Favorite Craft

I enjoy sewing the most and I love to make handbags. It's why I made the decision to start a business making and selling handbags. I also love designing my own fabric.

If you could learn one new craft or make anything, what would it be?

I would love to learn how to make gowns. I know I could do it. I just haven't found the time, or a good reason to invest in the fabric it would take to make a high quality gown.

Who are your crafting heroes?

My biggest hero is my mom. She is the reason I started sewing. She would make the costumes for a church Easter play, and I was fascinated. I remember begging her to teach me and she eventually gave in. My favorite childhood memory is sitting on her lap at she pushed the pedal and helped me guide the fabric through the machine.
