My goal in life was to be an administrative secretary. After a degree in business and being a secretary for many years, I had reached my goal in a large company in San Diego, Ca. Back then I could type 80 words per mintue with no errors and take shorthand at 70 words per minute with no errors. I liked working with my hands. Since then my interests have changed and I went in another direction.

I had been knitting and crocheting on and off since I was 12 and sewing since I was 15. I started out making crocheted potholders and the 60's poodle dog bottle covers. I became a sales person at an early age as people in my neighborhood saw my work and purchased them.

This idea stuck in my head as years went by and I would create items such as bikinis, sweater dresses, purses, hats, scarves, ponchos, shawls and people saw my work and purchased them.

So now my hobby has become my business. It is fun to work at something you like very much and make $$$ at the same time. My rates are reasonable because I know the cost of yarn and what it takes to make an item and since I can knit and crochet with my eyes closed, my fingers fly very fast!

I picked up a new hobby a little over 3 years ago, beading. I love to work with my hands and this gave me an opportunity to take a break from knitting and crocheting. I have started a line of jewelry and to my surprise people like what they see and they purchase from me.

And now that there is a world wide web, I have sold around the world, I am not limited to my small hometown in Iowa where people saw my work and purchased from me, Seattle is where I have settled and my horizons have widened, the sky is the limit.

My daughter has joined me at an early age of 15 and perhaps she will follow my footsteps and carry on.

Till then, peace, joy and happiness to all, life is too short to squabble ♥♥ ♥♥ ♥♥
