How did you find CO+K and why did you join?

I've been here, at CO+K for so long, I honestly don't remember how I found it. I just know I'm really glad of it, because it's a unique, fun, creative resource, and very user friendly, with an even friendlier owner.

What projects are you currently working on?

I have too many current projects going, to count. I've an entire house to decorate and organize, plus front porch, back deck, and gardens. I'm pretty sure this will take years. But, I think once I get some of the plants forage, outside, maybe I'll make wreaths or swag of them, for gifts & decorating.

What does your craft space look like?

We just moved into our new home, a couple months ago, so I'm still working on it, but it has a pair of big, South-facing windows, that look down at our pond, and let lots of natural light in, and offer plenty of wildlife and floral inspiration. My rocking chair is angled in front of the windows, from one side, my sewing machine faces it, from the other side. The whole room is more of an 'indoor she-shed', than craft room, because there's also a tv, for watching instructional videos - or Netflix, a chaise, to relax on, while I watch - out for shared seating, while I learn from, or teach a friend, or family member. The cabinet under the tv houses some of my craft books & keepsakes.

There isn't really any cabinetry, yet, so much of my cache is still sitting in piles, on the floor, but, I've hung an over - the -door shoes -pocket thingy over one of the louvered closet doors, to store lots of small stuff, and tucked little hooks into the louvers on the other side, to hang my needle arts tools, like embroidery hoops, thread pallets, and diagram keepers.

Which tool or craft supply do you use the most?

Hmmm... the most versatile, therefore my most used tool in my arsenal would have to be my little ott light. it's a small, desk-top style lamp, that gives me the clearest view of the colors, lines, threads, etc, that I'm working with, on pretty much any project, or even just reading.

What do you craft along to?

I listen to almost any music, while I work, but if I have to really focus, I need something without lyrics - or just the sounds of the wildlife, outside.

Favorite Craft

I get bored easily, so enjoy a wide variety of crafts - from cooking and baking, to felting and jewelry making - but, my favorite would have to be... entirely dependent on the day!

Carla's Top Crafts

If you could learn one new craft or make anything, what would it be?

I'd love to learn how to throw pottery, on a wheel.

Who are your crafting heroes?

Mark Montano - the guy is a deco-genius!!
Cat Morely - of course! After all - Cut Out + Keep!!!
Lan Anh Handmade - have you SEEN this workmanship???
