About

I have been crocheting ever since I was 24. It was quite a doing to learn how because I was left handed and no one that was right handed could teach me, they didn't know what to do. So I bought the needed supplies, went home, gave my husband and 6 year old son the great news that we was going to have a baby in July.

I actually got my husband to read over the book to teach crochet; he was right handed.

He taught himself how to crochet using the smaller steel hooks and crochet thread size 10 to make deer scene tapestries.

I watched what he did, like looking at a mirror I guess, and I learned how to crochet in three days. Of course to start I made simple afghans, and gradually slipped into making baby clothes.

Therefore, I have been crocheting baby sets, booties, caps, sweaters, diaper covers, kimonas, and doll clothes ever since.

A few years later we got stationed in Germany and I saw women knitting on the buses going to the city, and I had the want to do the same to make sweaters rather than buy them.

I asked my best friend if she knew how to knit, and she did, so I watched her for a evening, and I learned the basics of knitting, only left handed.

Within a year I owned two knitting machines and was making baby clothes and sweaters for my family.

I think if I wasn't stopping in the craft supplies area of Wally World or going to Hobby Lobby or Michaels for yarns and tiny decorations and ribbons, I'd go nuts. Guess I am a crafting phenatic for babies; and I don't have any in my family or through friends.

So, I want to make hats and bootie sets to donate to hospitals, single mothers, and families in need. .

I'd like to invite you to join me in my "Giving In Spirit" program, which you can find on my page on facebook.

I am also looking for testers of my crochet patterns to be home published once tested and make available to the public here at cutoutandkeep.net
