When did you first start getting crafty and creative with fashion?

I was always a bit craft obsessed - some of my earliest memories are of doing craft projects with my mom! It wasn't until I was in elementary school and my mom taught me how to hand sew that I really started to become interested in making my own stuff to wear. And then it became a full-on obsession once I turned 13 & got my very first sewing machine. I've been creating outfits from scratch ever since!

Who are your favorite fashionistas and designers?

Meadham Kirchhoff and Doll Eyes NY are my all-time favorite designers. As for ~fashionistas~ I count Nina Hagen as my #1 inspiration - she was/is so fearless with her outfits & overall look. I love her to bits!

What are your ultimate style tips?

If you like it, wear it! Don't worry about something being "flattering" or right for your body type, etc. If it makes you happy then that's all that really matters. I dunno if that's really a style tip...it's more like a mentality that I think more people should embrace!

If you could borrow one thing from a celebrities wardrobe, what & who would you choose?

I'd love to own every dress that Twiggy modeled in the '60s.

Which fashion blogs do you love to read?

Mermaidens (mermaidens.blogspot.com) Secret Hipster (secret-hipster.blogspot.com) & Perma Pupa (http://perma.pupae.net/) are my favorites right now.

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

Aside from sewing and altering clothing for myself, I also run a little accessories shop called Pop Tones where I sell handmade brooches and pom pom jewelry.
