Tell us a bit about your home and what you love about it the most?

We recently moved to a new apartment so it's still not 'done'. Then again, I feel that a space is never 'complete'. A well-loved space is always growing, evolving, taking on its own character. My decor style is heavily influenced by budget, space, logistics (we're in a rental) so I'm forced to find more creative solutions to achieve the look I want. That physical block sometimes brings out the best design solutions.
I have had to work with a lot of IKEA products and that can be a challenge - trying to make something so unoriginal look unique. For example, I've taken a $20 IKEA coffee table and painted a landscape on it, I've had people ask me where I bought that from!

What was the first DIY project you did to your home or first thing you made for it?

My first DIY project for our apartment was a paint chip wall art project I think. I collected a bunch of paint chips in my favorite colors at a local hardware store and framed them. They went up on the wall behind our dining table :)

Do you have any tips for staying tidy & organised?

You're asking the wrong person :P Just kidding. There are days when I'm extremely organized and have my day planner filled out and checked off already, but then I have days when you'll find laundry waiting to be folded and a pile of dishes in the sink. I think everyone needs to figure out what works for them, and it's absolutely fine to not be on top of everything all the time!

My top organizing tip would be to have a home for everything. Make sure little knick-knacks have a place to go, use dividers, containers, de-clutter that junk drawer and make sure the rest of the household is on the same page. You don't want your darling husband leaving the kitchen shears in the office caddy!

If you could tour any celebrities home, who would it be?

Oooh, I'd love to tour Gwyneth Paltrow's home designed by Windsor Smith! Ellen DeGeneres' ranch is also really gorgeous.

If you had three wishes, what changes would you make to your home?

- add an extra bedroom
- a separate office! (my husband and I share one right now)
- I'd love some more natural light for photography (I guess we can't really change that, can we?)

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

I upcycle a lot of old and found objects, most of them haven't ended up on the blog yet. I've recently started walking a trail near our place and it's the most relaxing thing. Thankfully, the weather's not too hard on us here in Houston!
