Tell us a bit about your home and what you love about it the most?

Well, guess what? I just moved into a new place! It’s retro, and has tons of 60’s charm. I've always loved mid-century modern design, and this place has a great deal of 60’s elements and charm. My favorite room here is the living room because it has a lofty western facing view above all the trees as well as, a floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall window. I can’t wait to shop for curtains (though I may have a little trouble finding some extra-long ones, but I’m up for the challenge. I promise my readers a before-and-after reveal as soon as I'm done.

What was the first DIY project you did to your home or first thing you made for it?

I just made an illuminated copper globe for my nightstand because again I feel like this new home I just moved into lends itself to a mid-century…slightly futuristic kind of mood. You can check out the DIY as part of my 7 day DIY reveal here on Cut Out + Keep!

Do you have any tips for staying tidy & organised?

Good Question! I’m certainly an advocate for living a simple, and clutter free life. So donating those things in your closet you haven’t used in the last 6 months is clearly a good rule. Whenever I need extra craft supply storage (mwahaha) I’ll go to the local Buffalo Exchange and drop off some clothes for store credit. However, it’s also important to use the space in your home wisely. Think of all that empty vertical space on your walls! Bring out that DIY spirit and make some cool vertical shelving! Don’t be afraid to ask your local hardware store to cut that wood for you and make something practical yet unique!

If you could tour any celebrities home, who would it be?

Hands down, Rachel Zoe's home. I love her simple yet retro chic style and design sense. Though I think I would probably faint, and not even get passed the foyer if I were ever so lucky.

If you had three wishes, what changes would you make to your home?

1). Add a patio or deck for summer time entertaining and BBQ's (I'm on the top floor so that's not happening).

2). Add a bar and coffee station (I'm currently contemplating which one I'll make first).

3). Add black stained wood floors. I think it's so modern and beautiful. Not to mention, it hides dirt well!

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

In college I worked at the UC Davis Craft Center and worked on bronze sculpting, glass bead making, pottery throwing, and paper making. I was responsible for checking out the tools to members so it was a great experience and I attribute that time in my life as the reason I feel at home when I shop at Home Depot. It's just one big tool shed!

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Since I just moved into a new home I've got quite the blank canvas to work with! I'm super excited to share my upcoming crafts and home decor ideas with all of you so I hope you'll all follow me along on my crafting adventures!

Lastly, a huge virtual hug goes out to Cut Out and Keep for making this interview possible, and for making a home for this extraordinary community of makers, creatives and fans!

xoxo

The last movie I saw was Jupiter Ascending and if you can get past the awkward casting, it was like watching Star Wars, Harry Potter, Back to the Future and My Big Fat Greek Wedding all rolled into one. That to be my friends, is what I call entertaining!

Considering how many times I've been burned by a hot glue gun, E6000 has literally saved my skin! It strong and dries fast...I couldn't ask for anything better!
