My first handmade Lolita bonnet. All made diy from an old hoodie, leftover fabric scraps, ribbon and lace. It took me so long to make bcuz I had to hand sew everything. But I loved making it! This is really easy and fun to make! I used a hood cutoff from an old lightweight hoodie I didn't wear anymore as a starting point and template for my fabrics. I sewed everything on the old hoodie and kept on decorating. I started by making sure the hoodie fit me the way I wanted. Then I measured and added the fancy velvety texture and design fabric I got from a nice dress skirt. Then I sewed and gathered some ruffles around the edges. I then sewed on the different kinds of lace, I used several different kinds cuz they were available. Last I sewed on a black satin ribbon to tie my bonnet around my head.
