Description

The dragon was the first one I made, from a picture of a clay dragon figurine that I found online, drew/traced, then traced around with clay...then got too complicated >_< This method in this tutorial is used in the stars and heart sun catchers

Instructions

  1. Mix a small amount of colored polymer clay with a large piece of translucent polymer clay. Use more for your background color (in the moon and stars sun-catcher, blue) than your image color (yellow)

  2. Small janet s retirement 132

Thinly roll out the clay you want for your image, and cut out the pieces

  3. Small janet s retirement 133

Roll out your background color to the same thickness, and trace out where you want your images

  4. Small janet s retirement 134

Take out the cut out pieces in your background color, and replace them with your images

  5. Small janet s retirement 135

Blend the pieces together, being careful not to distort the image

  6. Small janet s retirement 131

Cut the edges of the background into the shape you want, and outline with a roll of opaque clay. Remember to add a hole so your sun-catcher can be hung up.

  7. Small janet s retirement 139

Bake according to the directions on the polymer clay packaging

  8. Small janet s retirement 151

Add a string/ribbon/chain/etc. and hang up to a window!
