Description

I've been looking for a palm organiser for a while but the only ones I could find online cost £70 so I came to my senses and decided to make one.

Instructions

  1. Small 1204

Using your palm for reference draw out a rectangle template on to a piece of paper. Add an extra inch and each side of the palm. Make smaller rectangle, only an inch wide, at each side of the first rectangle. And then draw two more rectangles, the same size as the first one, at either side of the smaller ones.

  2. Small 1205

Cut out the template and score along the lines.

  3. Small 1206

Cut out three rectangle of card, cardboard or plastic. These should be the same size as the large rectangles on the template.

  4. Small 1207

Use the template to draw on to the fabric for the cover and the lining of the organiser. Cut out the rectangle leaving a 2cm margin.

  5. Small 1208

Glue one side of the card rectangles. Stick them down on to the cover fabric. Spacing them so that there is an inch in between them like the template.

  6. Small 1209

Fold over the remaining fabric and glue it down. There should be a nice straight line around the outside of the entire rectangle. Turn it over to check that it looks neat.

  7. Small 1210

Cut the lining fabric to the exact size of the template. Glue it down to the inside of the cover. If you want to make it look a little neater use ribbon to line the edges.

  8. Small 1211

Sew a stud button on to the left hand fold over flap and the right hand inside flap.

  9. Small 1212

Sew a small length or ribbon in to the one inch folds. You can use this for holding pens and spare stylus.

  10. Small 1213

Sew a pocket on to the right hand flap. This is handy for holding your notes and bits and pieces in.

  11. Small 1214

Tie some thin ribbon to the top and bottom on the left hand flap.

  12. Small 1215

Punch a few holes in to a pad of paper and thread the ribbon through to keep it secure and in place.

  13. Small 1216

Decorate the cover with ribbons, felt and anything else that will look pretty.

  14. Small 1217

Glue a small travel mirror on to one of the inside flaps.
