I was looking for something to decorate the empty siding on my front porch, but I wanted to create something that used materials that I already had on hand. I always didn't want to lug out my sewing machine :) Fortunately, this project was simple and has held up well!

I was looking for something to decorate the empty siding on my front porch, but I wanted to create something that used materials that I already had on hand. I always didn't want to lug out my sewing machine :) Fortunately, this project was simple and has held up well!

Instructions

Make a stencil. I just used card-stock to create a triangle pattern. Use a ruler to make sure it is a true isosceles triangle. Mr. Blakeman, you were so right - I will use geometry in real life!

  2. Small 102707 2f2014 06 19 152841 img 5507

Trace your stencil onto the wrong side of the fabric then cut it out.

  3. Small 102707 2f2014 06 19 152914 img 5510

Repeat step 2 over and over again until your hand hurts and you begin to hate geometry once again

Using pinking shears, cut around the edge of each triangle. You will probably have to get your husband to help you with this part because your hands will still be aching from step 3.

Glue the backs of the triangles onto ribbon using a hot glue gun. I actually used twine as my "ribbon" because it was on hand, and I like the way it looks.

    Hang as desired.
