Draw half a heart on a piece of cardboard folded in half. Cut the heart out. This will be your template for the heart cut out.
Turn the t-shirt inside out. Use the template to draw a heart on the t-shirt where you want the cutout to be. I made it where my actual heart is. Use a chip of soap or a fabric marker to draw the heart shape on the t-shirt.
Cut a piece of stretch lace a little bit bigger than your heart. Pin it over the heart you drew. Ziga zag the lace to the shirt following the heart shape. Cut the extra lace surrounding the heart.
Turn the shirt right side out and carefully cut the shirt fabric away from the center of the heart as close to the zig zag seam as possible. Be careful not to cut the lace layer. All done!
