Take your mask, and cover it on both sides in a dark nail varnish or paint. I used the magnetic Barry M nail varnish as it gave a nice glossy look to the inside of the mask
Once dry, take your black feather and glue them facing outwards along the edge of the mask. I kept the fluffier ones to the side and then glued them all at the top corner to help mask some of the wire we will be using later on
Repeat the process with the rest of your feather until you work your way right into the eyes. I went from black -> red/black striped feathers -> red and then glued some of the leftover red feather on the nose
Take your trimming and glue it round the eyes. I make mine pointy at one end to give it more of a cat eye feel Between the cut out eye shape and the one that I make with the trimming, you could see a little of the red feathers - I took my nail varnish and carefully covered this for a fuller smokey eye look
Slightly curve some jewellery wire and glue if just under the fluffy feathers on the outside of the mask (if you do it underneath the mask then cover the ends in ribbon or something so you don't scratch your face when wearing) Then take some of your fluffier feathers and glue them to the end of your wire
Scrunch up one end of a small piece of veil and glue it at the back of your mask, just beneath where your wire is.
Thread your beads onto a piece of invisible thread (I made 3 different length strands), leaving a small section of thread extra at one end Take the end with the extra piece of thread and glue it to one of the bottom corners of your mask, then repeat for the others
You then have a few different choices for how to wear the mask: 1. take a piece of dowelling and wrap ribbon around it before gluing it to the same side of your mask as the beads 2. glue elastic to each side so that your can wear the mask without holding it 3. glue a length of ribbon to each side so you can tie it in a bow at the back (more likely to fall down than the elastic but if you are wearing your hair up then you can add in extra kirby grips to keep it in place)
