Hi Lacey...me again....I forgot to say our family wear hats, tails, frilled neck pieces and lace sleeves quite a lot of the time. We go to the Whitby goth festival each year where everyone is dressed in Victoriana or some version of lolita or steampunk clothing. There are so many lace gloves and hats....LOL

Hi Lacey. You might be able to get a long coat from a second hand or trift shop. The main thing is to make sur the back is in two sections so you have enough width in the fabric to make the tails. If it's fabric that hasn't got a nap (one way like velvet) then you can use the hem line as the top of the tail pieces. That way you would have enough for the shaping. Go for a size or 2 larger to give yourself enough fabric to play around with. Love your mini hat btw. Cute idea putting the net over the face Happy
