I'm Ruth Crean, and I'm an Irish designer living and working in Limerick city. After graduating from a degree in Fine Art: Prinmaking from Limerick School of Art and Design I embarked on a meanerding path through the arts. Over the years I worked in many different disciplines from painting, photography, digital art, graphic design, paper crafts, theatre design, and now fashion.
It seems like I eventually found my niche when I set up the business '...Nice Day Designs' in 2007. My main focus is upcycling and recycling second hand clothes, making them into one off designer pieces. I also sell a large range of hand crafts and accesories, made from felt and all kinds of recycled fabrics. This year I started a side business of selling sewing supplies online, under the name Nice Day Supplies, I have a wide selection of vintage buttons, ribbons and haberdashery items.
I'm happiest when I'm working on a new project, squirrelled away in my studio and listening to some audiobooks. I suspect that on the inside I'm actually an old lady!
