About

Before I became a wife and mother of my wonderful 1year old daughter, I was an independent contractor. I worked doing many different things: lighting design, costume design, stage managing, PA, stage crew, whatever the show called for I would do. But, mostly I did lights and costumes; at 18 I was the youngest lighting designer in North Texas. Good times they were, but for some reason, Mommy can't work those hours any more. :O

Therefore, I am now a Tech Support Specialist for a small online database company. :/ I pays the bills but leaves me feeling like a drone.

It is because of this Drone mentality that I craft! I have been sewing for over 15 years making everything from Dolly's "Hello, Dolly!" dress to my daughter's nursery set to modified thrift store clothes for myself and friends! I knit, crochet, paint (with my husband, who is EXTREMELY talented), read, love the theatre, music and generally will try anything once.

I am on the look out for new friends that can teach me new things, and always willing to help out anyone that I can with my skill set!

My very favorite pastime, (which is quite expensive so rare for me to get to do) is getting tattooed! I love tattoos, I love the sting of the needle as the ink enters my skin, there is something so soothing about it to me...

Anyways, enough about me, I would love to hear about YOU! So please drop a line if you have a moment, I'd love to make my friends list grow.

PS - I love this site, everyone is so creative, it has helped keep me sane on many nights while I rock the munchkin who cannot sleep at 2am. Kudos to CO&K

No it doesn't have to be the Newbie vs Vet swap, it would be good to have at least one swap -- any swap -- under your belt. I'm sure you'll have a swap done by round two Tongue

Each swap has different rules set by the host, although most swaps -- apart from the newbie vs vet swap -- ask that you've done one swap, preferably that one as you get more support and guidance as they match a vet with a newbie...

Hm, well at the moment we have an even no of people... I think... we'll wait till the closing date, which is 2 days. I'll probably do a round 2 after this one, so either way you can join round 2...

Hi Karlei, to answer your question about a double prong clip, here is a picture: http://all-starbeauty.com/Store2/popup_image.php?pID=130

I tend to favour those for hair candy because they tend not to interfere as much with your hairstyle.

Hiya, this is Lolly.Bot -- the Baby, Toddler and Children Swap Host. I was wondering if you did participate in the Newbie vs Veteran Swap?? I need to know what's going on as the sign-up date is on the 12th (5 days time) -- are you still interested in this swap or not? I'm not sure if I would be able to consider you in the swap if you haven't done the Newbie vs Vet Swap... just thought I would let you know Happy
